| Allspice | Used as an antiseptic & for flatulence |
| Peppers | Aid for nausea |
| Salt | A salt water gargle is a traditional source of relief when a cold threatens or for a sore throat |
| Ginger | Helps poor circulation & is taken as a drink for coughs, nausea & influenza |
| Thyme | Helps in the digestion of fatty foods |
| Bay leaf | The acid from the leaves is suppose to discourage moths & it is an appetite stimulant |
