Instructions
- Place minced beef, porridge oats, herbs, burger relish, chilli and shallots into a bowl and mix thoroughly. Then crack an egg and whisk for a second and add to your burger mixture. Season with salt and pepper. When the mixture is nice and wet and sticky it is ready for making the burger patties.
- Put some flour on your work surface and on your hands so that the burgers won’t stick then take a handful of mixture and form a ball. Press the ball firmly in your hands to compress the burger. Then rolling the ball in the flour to make sure it is completely covered with a light dusting of flour.
- Flatten your pattie so that it looks like a burger now.
- Fry your burgers in a hot frying pan for a few minutes until brown on both sides – transfer to a baking tray and bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes or until cooked through at 200 degrees C.
- Toast your buns while you are waiting.
